Burkholder, Melvin (09 Sept. 1960 - 01 Sept. 2007)

Melvin Burkholder, 46, Dorchester, died Saturday, September 1st, 2007 in the Town of Mayville.

Funeral services were held September 5th at the Sunny Ridge Mennonite Church in Curtiss, Wis. Bishop Alvin Martin presided and interment was in the Sunny Ridge Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Leroy, Mervin, Sidney, Lawrence, Jere and Mark Burkholder.

Melvin was born September 9th, 1960, in East Earl Township, New Holland, PA, the son of Allen and Vera (Zimmerman) Burkholder. He and his family farmed in the Town of Mayville.

Survivors include his wife Alma Burkholder, Dorchester; five sons, Melvin, Curvin, Wilmer, Nathan and Nelson Burkholder; five daughters, Verna, Ruth Ann, Lois, Beulah and Suretta Burkholder; parents, Allen and Vera (Zimmerman) Burkholder, New Holland, PA; nine brothers, Earl (Naomi) Burkholder, Shippensburg, PA, Raymond (Alma) Burkholder, Withee, Allen (Minnie) Burkholder, New Holland, PA, Leroy (Marlene) Burkholder, Canadaiqua, NY, Mervin (Bernice) Burkholder, New Holland, PA, Sidney (Luella) Burkholder, Martinsburg, PA, Lawrence (Marlene) Burkholder, Martinsburg, PA, Jere (Margaret) Burkholder, Elkton, KY, and Mark (Arlene) Burkholder, New Holland, PA; six sisters Ella Mae (Ivan) Nolt, New Holland, PA, Mabel (Frank) Burkholder, Dorchester, Vera (David) Martin, Dumor, WV, Arlene (Carl) Brubaker, New Holland, PA, Susan (James Ray) Garman, Plymouth, OH and Miriam (Allan) Ringler, Narvon, PA.

Maurina-Community Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
