Harrer, Elizabeth (10 Apr. 1846 - 5 Oct. 1938)

Death came to another Marathon county pioneer at 12:30 A.M. on Wednesday, October 5th, when Mrs. Elizabeth Harrer died at the age of 92 years, five months and 25 days at the home of her son, Lawrence Harrer of Superior. She was one of the last of the pioneer homesteaders, having settled on the property now owned by Ben Smart of the town of Frankfort.

The deceased was born in Hungary and came to the United States with her husband in the year 1865 and in 1870 settled on a piece of wild land with Colby their nearest town. There were no roads but bush roads to travel on. She was the mother of eight children. Those surviving are John of Lake Nebagamon, Lawrence of Superior and Effie and Lizzie of Bayfield.
