Stacke, Adeline (Marriage - 22 Oct. 1938)

A very pretty wedding took place at the St. Paul’s Lutheran church at Green Grove Saturday, October 22, Rev. M. C. Goetsch officiating, when Miss Adeline Stacke, daughter of Mrs. Augusta Stacke, became the bride of Wilbert Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Miller. Ethel Stacke of Chicago, sister of the bride, acted as maid of honor and the groom was attended by his cousin, Otto Sommer of Spencer.

The bride was attired in a beautiful brocaded white velvet dress with a long train. Her finger tip veil was held in place with a headdress of orange blossoms. Her bouquet consisted of white lilies and carnations. The maid of honor was attired in a floor length maroon transparent velvet dress with matching accessories. She carried a bouquet of tea roses.

Supper was served at the bride’s home at 6:00 o’clock to forty friends and relatives. A midnight lunch was also served. The home was nicely decorated with cut flowers and maroon and white decorations for the occasion. In the evening, a wedding dance was given at the armory.

The young couple will make their home on the groom’s farm in Green Grove.
