Michlig, Betty S. (Morgan) (25 Aug 1933 - 19 Aug 2007)

Betty S. Michlig, 74, Abbotsford, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

Betty was born August 25, 1933, in Chattanooga, TN, to Murray and Martha (Beaty) Morgan. She graduated from Davis High School in Trenton, GA. She was married to Hilarion Michlig from 1956 to 1985 and divorced. She worked at Colby Café and then for Dr. Kalstrom as a dental hygienist. Then Betty and Hilarion owned and operated Michlig’s Pit Stop in Curtiss, Wis. She cooked at Mr. B’s and Abby Café before retiring. She also volunteered at Abbotsford Elementary School as a foster grandparent.

Betty is survived by her children, Theresa (Jeff) Thorson of Curtiss and Mark Michlig of Abbotsford; four grandchildren, Joshua (Sarah) Michlig, Natalie (Paul) Hazuga, Matthew Thorson and Catherine Michlig; one great-grandchild, Eli Hazuga; two brothers, Charles (Jean) Morgan of Rising Fawn, GA, and Howard (Mary) Morgan of Ringgold, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22nd, 2007, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Abbotsford, Wis. Interment was at Libertyville Baptist Cemetery, Fort Payne, Alabama. Pastor Kevin Holland presided. Pallbearers were Robert, Kevin and Jerold Michlig, Gary, Joseph and Allan Frane.

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. at Maurina-Community Funeral Home, Abbotsford, and from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church on Saturday.
