Wetterau, Grace (Reynolds) (10 Dec 1917 - 21 Aug 2007)
Grace Wetterau, 89, Dorchester, died Friday, September 21, 2007, at Our House Assisted Living, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice.
Grace was born December 10th, 1917, in Marshfield, to Fred H. and Mary (Stelzel) Reynolds. She was a graduate of Dorchester High School and Marathon County Normal School. Grace and Clifford Wetterau were united in marriage June 10, 1939, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, Wis. He died January 21st, 2006. Grace was an active member of St. Louis Catholic, Church, the Parish Council of Catholic, Women, and the National Catholic, Society of Lady Foresters. She was also a member of the Dorchester American Legion Auxiliary. Grace enjoyed baking, cooking, dancing, and attending various church dinners throughout the area. She was an accomplished seamstress (making many of her own clothes) and an artist painting with oils. A "snowbird," she enjoyed vacationing in Brownsville, TX. Grace was employed with the former Dorchester Cheese Factory as a secretary and treasurer and had resided in Dorchester for 53 years.
Grace is survived by her son, Mark Wetterau of Midland, TX and her granddaughter, Lindsey Wetterau, attending St. Louis University, St. Louis, MO; three brothers, James (Lenora) Reynolds of Dorchester, Thomas (Elaine) Reynolds of Dorchester and Theodore (Laurelle) Reynolds of Wausau; two sisters, Gladys Zettler of Loyal and Mary Ann (Joseph) Meyer of Medford; one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Reynolds of Dorchester and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Frederick, Alvin and Jerome; two infant brothers; one sister, Violet Rajewski; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Zettler and Peter Rajewski; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Reynolds; and four nephews, Daniel, Paul and B. J. Reynolds, and Ted Zettler.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 24th, 2007, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, Wis. Burial was in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Father Ben Franklin and Father James Schaefer presided. Pall bearers were James, Thomas and Theodore Reynolds, Joseph Meyer and James Jantsch.
Visitation was from 9:30 until time of services at the church. A rosary service was held at 10:00 a.m., at the church. Maurina-Community Funeral Home assisted the family.
Thanks to our friends at Our House Assisted Living and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice, for their kind, loving, compassionate care shown to Grace and her family during the final chapter of her life.
