Gray, Salome (6 Mar. 1860 - Jan. 1939)
Mrs. Salome Gray, age 87, a resident of Colby about forty years ago, died at Marshfield at the home of her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. McDonald, with whom she had been making her home. She had been confined to her home for two weeks as a result of a heart ailment. Funeral services were held January 18th at Marshfield, Rev. T. E. Blaufuss, pastor of St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed church officiating.
Mrs. Gray, nee Salome Hirlburt, was born in Essex, N.Y., March 6th, 1860. She was married at Colby on Oct. 4, 1875, to Albert Gray, who preceded her in death Sept. 30th, 1901.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. William (Mable) Wepfer of Colby, Mrs. William (Laura) Dakow of Marshfield, Mrs. H. R. (Verna) McDonald of Marshfield and Mrs. Morris (Dorothy) Ross of Stratford. Also 11 grand children, nine great grand children, a half sister, Mrs. Ella Poate of St. Paul and a half brother, Will Hurlburt of Neillsville, Wis.
