Berken, Edna (24 NOV 1938)
Miss Edna Berken, daughter of Mrs. Emma Berken of this city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), was united in marriage to Fred S. Boden of Bakersfield, Calif., in the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood at 10 o’clock Thanksgiving morning.
The ceremony was read in the presence of a company of intimate friends by Dr. Stewart P. McLennan, minister of the Hollywood Church. The couple left immediately thereafter for San Francisco and a northern coast wedding trip, after which they will be at home to friends at 727 Flower St.
Mrs. Boden was attired in a becoming blue teal outfit worn with dark blue accessories and a gardenia corsage.
The bride is well known to the citizens of Owen, having resided in this city practically all her life until a year ago, when she left for Bakersfield, Calif., where she accepted a position in a bank in that city.
Mr. Boden is a well known resident of Bakersfield and is councilman of the first war of that city. He is also prominently known and actively identified with the Elks Lodge and Caledonia Lodge F. & A.M.
Mrs. Boden’s wide host of friends in Owen and vicinity sincerely wish them a happy wedded life.
