Miller, Muriel (27 DEC 1938)

The First Evangelical Church of Sheboygan was the scene of a beautiful candlelight wedding service a week ago Tuesday when Miss Muriel Miller of 819 Bluff Av., Sheboygan, exchanged matrimonial vows with Arthur Meinhardt of Sheboygan, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Meinhardt of this city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.).

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. F.W. Huebner at six p.m. The couple were attended by Miss Geraldine Miller, sister of the bride as maid of honor, and Gordon Evans as best man, and bridesmaids, Alice Meinhardt of Owen, sister of the groom, Luella Goll, cousin of the bride, and Miss Joyce Woog of Sheboygan.

The bride was attired in a gown of Ivory quilted taffeta designed with a square shaped neckline and a long oval shaped train for the ceremony. Her tulle veil fell from a crown of orange blossoms. She carried a large bouquet of Calla lilies. The maid of honor wore a gown of Persian quilted taffeta. Colonial hoop skirt gowns were worn by the bridesmaids in rose, Spanish raisin and Arabian blue. They each carried a Colonial bouquet of sweet peas and roses. The groom and best man were dressed in tuxedoes and wore a gardenia boutonnieres.

The bride was given away in marriage at the altar by her father. The organist for the wedding was Miss Hattie Rodwald, who has been the bride’s music instructor for several years. Mrs. Walter Klawiter sang, "At Dawning," and Wallace Miller, uncle of the bride, sang, "Beloved It Is Morn." The singers also offered a duet, "The Benediction." The bride’s mother wore a black velvet dress and the bridegroom’s mother was gowned in a dress of teal blue. Both wore gardenia corsages.

The church was beautifully decorated with candelabra flowers and palms. Each pew was marked with a large white taffeta bow.

After the ceremony a reception and dinner was served to 50 guests in the guest house.

The bride is a graduate of the Sheboygan High School and the Sheboygan Business College and for the past few years has been organist in the First Evangelical Church in that city.

The groom is a graduate of the Owen High School after which he attended the Eau Claire Teachers College for three years and a graduate of the Sheboygan Business College. Hi is now president and manager of the Weeden Quality Dairy in the city of Sheboygan, a position he has held for the past two years.
