Thompson, Robert B. (JUN 1938 - 19 FEB 1939)
Severe burns suffered by little Robert Bryan Thompson, eight-months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Thompson, two weeks ago today proved fatal to him when infection set in. He passed away at the local hospital Sunday morning.
The child suffered the burns when the creeper in which he was riding caught a wheel in the top surface of a pipeless hot air furnace register in his home, causing the creeper to tip over. The child’s tender face was severely burned on the hot register, with infection developing later.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the Griebenow-Weirich Funeral Parlors at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. J.H. Rostad officiating. Interment was made at the Riverside Cemetery.
Vocal numbers were rendered by the male quartet composed of Rev. Rostad, Orville Thorson, Harold Wendt and Edgar Alberts; also by Rev. and Mrs. Rostad and Mrs. Thorson.
Pallbearers at the service were little Billy Richardson, Billy Mahoney, Bobby Carter and Douglas Rostad.
Attending the funeral services were many out of town relatives of the child from Fairchild.
