John and Gladys Olsen of Loyal celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family at the Dyre/Olsen family reunion held July 21st at Rock Dam.
The Olsens and their children also spent some time at their daughter Jean’s Lake Solberg home near Phillips - boating and reminiscing.
John and Gladys were married August 16th, 1947, at the United Methodist Church in Loyal.
Best man, Reverend Floyd Olsen, was present at the family reunion. Their maid of honor, LaVonne (Smith) Joyce is deceased.
John served in the Army and was stationed in the Philippines during World War II. Both worked at Loyal Public Schools. John retired in 1987 and Gladys retired in 1993.
Children of the couple are Sue (Herb) Olson, Duluth; Carl (Susan) Olsen, Seattle, WA; David (Debra) Olsen, Barron and Jean (Mick) Braun, Loyal. They also have eight grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
