Karkiewicz, Maryjanna (1853? - 31 July 1942)

Mrs. Maryjanna Karkiewicz, aged 89, passed away at the Neillsville Nursing home Saturday, July 31st, after a long illness. Her birth place was Poland.

Funeral services were held at the Alma Center Catholic Church Monday morning, interment being made beside her husband in the Catholic Cemetery there.

The departed spoke no English but she was able to manifest her appreciation for every kindness accorded her at the home. Since no one there could speak her native tongue, Mrs. Paul Skroch of this city acted as interpreter on several occasions and has the patient many happy moments through her tender and sympathetic consideration.

Mrs. Karkiewicz is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Joe Janicke.
