Wilke, Agnes C. (1 JUN 1909 - 29 AUG 2007)
Agnes C, Wilke, 98, Marshfield, died on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at Saint Joseph’s Palliative Care. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Charles Stoetzel officiated. Suzanne Golden was organist for St. John’s Church Funeral Choir, and vocalists, John F. Binder and James W. Eckes. Burial was in Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in the town of Richfield, Wood County. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Agnes C. Weber was born on June 1, 1909, in Dorchester, to Frank and Elizabeth (nee Elfert) Weber. She attended St. Louis Parochial School, Dorchester, and Dorchester High School. She married George P. Wilke on July 12, 1928, in Neillsville, Wis. He died on June 13, 1976. She and her husband farmed in rural Marshfield, where she was a wonderful devoted homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, knitting, crocheting, making quilts, and playing cards.
Survivors include four sons and four daughters, Melvin (Florence) Wilke, Wausau, Franklin J. (Irene) Wilke, Loyal, John H. Wilke, Pittsville, Mary Ann (Donald) Lindner, Greenwood, Lucille (Jerry) Jensen, Marshfield, Charles Wilke, Mount Vernon, Mo., Edith (Dale) Paleck, Merrill, and Dorothy (Marvin) Raasch, Wisconsin Rapids; 44 grandchildren; 88 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Francis (Delores) Weber, Dorchester; and two sisters-in-law, Marie Weber, Abbotsford, and Bernice Weber, Dorchester, Wis.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; a daughter, Mary Fagen; three brothers, Joseph, Lawrence, and Cletus Weber; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be designated in her name to St. John’s Parish.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Wells Nature View and Saint Joseph’s Palliative Care for the wonderful care that was given to her.
