Klak, Ignatz & Fanciska (Gold - 10 SEP 1938)
The anniversary of fifty happy years of wedded life pealed with golden bells for Mr. and Mrs. Ig. Klak of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), Saturday, Sept. the tenth, when they celebrated their golden wedding in combination with a family reunion.
Mr. and Mrs. Klak were married in Philadelphia, Pa., Sept. 10th, 1888. They resided there until 1894 when they moved to Thorp and they have resided on a farm near here ever since. To this happy union, fourteen children were born, twelve of whom are living (9 boys and 3 girls). All were present to participate in the festivities, namely: Mrs. Frank Dobiesz (Frances); Walter and Mrs. Anthony Wargolet (Helen), of Thorp; Stanley, Aloise and Joseph of Chicago; Anthony of Waukesha; Harriet of Winnetka, Ill.; George of Green Bay, Wis., John of Washington, D.C.; Michael of San Francisco, Calif.; Nick of Chippewa Falls, Wis. Mass was sung for the intention of jubilarians at St. Hedwig’s Church at 8:30 in the morning, after which the wedding banquet was held at the Klak home. During the meal a short program was given and John Klak presented his parents with a nice family gift.
Twenty grandchildren and other relatives and friends also took part in the festivities during the day and evening, leaving in the morning’s early hours. All left wishing Mr. and Mrs. Klak many more years of happy wedded life.
