Schmitt, Mercedes (3 NOV 1938)

Mr. Alex Neiman of the town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and Miss Mercedes Schmitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Schmitt of this village, were joined in holy matrimony by Rev. A.M. Muckerheide at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church here on Thursday morning, Nov. 3, 1938, at eight o’clock.

The couple was attended by Frank Penkala, as best man, and Miss Lucille Schmitt, sister of the bride, as bridesmaid, and Leon Neiman and Miss Bernice Deitsche.

A wedding breakfast was served to thirteen relatives at the home of the bride’s parents and supper was served to a number of friends and relatives at the home of the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.P. Neiman. A wedding dance was given at the American Legion hall in the evening.

The newlyweds left on a two weeks honeymoon through Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois and on their return will reside in Thorp where the groom is employed as auxiliary mail carrier.

Their many friends join in extending best wishes.
