Dorothy Ellen Claypool, 59, of Bemidji, MN died Friday, April 27, 2007 after a battle with cancer at Neilson Place in Bemidji.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the Faith Baptist Church in Bemidji, MN with Rev. Derek Claypool officiating. A visitation from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji with a Prayer Service at 5:00pm, with Rev. Lon Kuether officiating, will be Monday, April 30, 2007, and one hour before the services at the church.
She was born on February 13, 1948, in Unity, Wisconsin, the daughter of Clarence and Verna (Krucker) Schultz. She attended school in Colby, Wisconsin until the 11th grade. She graduated from Bemidji High School in 1966. She married Mike Claypool in November of 1970 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bemidji, MN. They later divorced in 1976. She worked part time but focused on raising her two boys. She put herself through college and graduated from Bemidji State University in 1987 with a degree in accounting. She proudly worked for Beltrami County in Red Lake and Bemidji from 1989 until the present. She enjoyed playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, coin collecting, cats, collecting frog figurines, and operating her small tax business.
She is survived by her: Sons, Evan (Lauri) Claypool of Laporte, MN; Cort (Joyce) Claypool of Okeechobee , Florida; Grandsons, Bryan and Nolyn Claypool, of Okeechobee , Florida; Brother, Dennis (Mary) Schultz of Turtle River , MN; Sisters, Christine (Kenneth) Derfus of Unity, WI; Marilyn (Terrance) Skarda of The Villages, Florida’ Elaine (Raymond) Degenhardt of Marshfield , WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Honorary Casketbearers will be: Kenneth Derfus, Terrance Skarda, Raymond Degenhardt, Mike Claypool, David Claypool, Jeff Claypool, Greg Claypool, Pastor Derek Claypool, Ross Olsen, Glenn Molitor, her friends, and co-workers. Active Casketbearers will be: Evan Claypool, Cort Claypool, Bryan Claypool, Nolyn Claypool, and Dennis Schultz.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
