Moore, Vyonne (20 Mar. 1934 - 15 Jan. 2006)
Mrs. Vyonne (Larson) Moore, age 71, of Colby, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2006. Funeral services for Vyonne Moore were held Thursday at United Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake with the Rev. Bob Toso officiating. Burial was in Ness Cemetery, Elbow Lake. Music for the service was provided by Jessica Poyzer, organist, and special music by Roy Johnson, violinist, accompanied by Gladys Gerhardt. Congregational hymns were, "Children of the Heavenly Father" and "It Is Well with My Soul." Casket bearers were Jerome Ostenson, John Paulson, Harvey Erickson, Dennis Erickson, and Larry Paulson.
Vyonne Larson was born in Wendell on March 20, 1934, to Gilbert and Ruth (Paulson) Larson, baptized and confirmed at the Ness Lutheran Church, Elbow Lake, and graduated from Elbow Lake High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree with high distinction from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. After teaching at Signal Hill School in Bellevelle, Illinois, Vyonne was married to Elton H. Moore in 1958. She was an organist in Lutheran churches in Beaver Dam and Unity, Wisconsin. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Colby, Wisconsin. Vyonne was a member of the Music Teachers National Association. In 1995, she received a 100 student-point plaque. For 19 years, she taught private piano lessons to children and adults. She played piano accompaniments for Colby solo-ensemble festivals, and was a judge at other solo-ensemble events for the Wisconsin School Music Association. For five years, Vyonne was organist and choir accompanist at the First Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford, Wis.
Survivors include her husband, Elton of Colby WI; daughters, Kathy Moore of Madison, WI, and Kellyann (Paul) Babey of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada; son, Michael (Jennifer Bailey) Moore of Boston, MA; and grandson, Nicholas Elton Moore of Boston. She is also survived by an uncle, Willard Paulson of Ashby. Vyonne was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Ruth Larson.
