Bower, Roland (Feb. 1939 - 10 July 1939)
Roland Bower, 5 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. George Bower, Longwood township, suffocated in its crib as its parents were busy with chores at their farm home southwest of Owen, Wisconsin early Monday morning.
The parents had gone about their chores at 5 a.m. after giving the infant its bottle. They returned to the house at 7 p.m. for breakfast and were preparing to go to the home of Mr. Bower’s parents, nearby, when they discovered that their child was dead, its blankets over its head.
They rushed the infant to the office of Dr. B. H. Dike, Owen, who resorted to artificial respiration, but without avail. The baby was the couple’s only child.
Coroner P. C. Ludovic, called from Neillsville, described the case as one of accidental death.
