Strathman, Fred Jr. (18 May 1896 - 8 Aug. 1939)

Fred Strathman, Jr., died at the Wisconsin General Hospital at Madison, where he was taken for treatment on August 8th, Monday noon at the age of 43 years. Funeral services will be held from the Lulloff Funeral Home this Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. Harry Lee, pastor of the Colby M. E. church, will officiate and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the funeral.

The deceased was born in Colby on May 16th, 1896, and was married in October, 1919, to Miss Hildur Larson. The couple engaged in farming in the town of Hull.

Besides his wife, the deceased is survived by three children, Gerald, Eugene and Virginia, at home, his father, Fred Strathman, Sr., and two brothers, Herman of Colby and Wm. of Portland, Ore.

Funeral services for Fred Strathman, Jr., whose death was reported last week, were held at the Lulloff Funeral Home last Thursday afternoon, Rev. H. Lee officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Robert Cushing, Harold Klessig, George Pfanzer, Ralph Oehmichen, B. M. Schommer and Paul Schmitt. Those in charge of the flowers were Marcella Knebel, Elenore Luepke, Gene Lukowicz, May Yelke, Joan Larson, Shirley Larson, Marjorie Young, Dorothy Young and Audrey Gries.

Out of town people here for the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Larson and family of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Nagel and Mary Landt of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peterson of Curtiss, Mr. Swenson and two sons of Ogema, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Richter of Curtiss, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Larson and family of Unity, Elmer Larson of Riplinger, Henry and John Johnson of Curtiss, Wis.

Fred Strathman, Jr., died at the Wisconsin General Hospital at Madison where he was taken for treatment August 8th. He died Monday noon, August 14, at the age of 43 years. The deceased was born in Curtiss, May 16, 1896, and was married to Hildur Larson October 27, 1920. The couple was engaged in farming in the town of Hull. Besides his wife, the deceased is survived by three children - Gerald, 17 years; Eugene, 14 years and Virginia, 11 years, all at home, his father Fred Strathmann, Sr., and two brothers, Herman of Colby and William of Portland, Oregon.
