Amundson, Ruth Marie (Marriage - 12 Sept. 1939)
Fall flowers adorned the altar of the Annunciation church at Green Bay Thursday morning, Sept. 12th, when Miss Ruth Marie Amundson, daughter of Mrs. Amelia Amundson of Colby, became the bride of Edmund Sinclair, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sinclair of Mill Center. The marriage was performed by the Rev. Francis Geigel.
The bride was given in marriage by Dr. Allan Filek of Green Bay, a state health officer, by whom the bride had been employed the past two years.
The bride chose for her wedding an entrained gown of white satin fashioned with a yoke and insets of lace in the sleeves. Her illusion veil was held in place with a diamond tiara which had been worn by Mrs. Filek on her wedding day.
The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Arcand, brother in law and sister of the bridegroom. Mrs. Arcand was attired in Sherry taffeta with headdress to match.
The bride’s bouquet was composed of white lilies and red roses.
About 150 guests were entertained at dinner at the home of the bridegroom’s parents and a wedding dance was held in the evening.
Mr. Sinclair is employed at one of the large grocery stores in Green Bay where the couple will reside. The bride is a graduate of the Colby, Wis. High School.
Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair visited several days with the latter’s mother and other relatives here while on their wedding trip.
