Kessenich, Norma (17 Sept. 1922 - 22 Aug. 2004)
Norma H. Kessenich, age 81, longtime resident of Stanley, Wis., passed away at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley in Sunday, August 22, 2004.
Norma was born on September 17, 1922, in Boyd, Wis., the daughter of Arthur and Hulda (Krueger) Hoffman. She grew up in the Boyd area, and attended area schools, graduating from Boyd High School. She was united in marriage to John Kessenich on March 20, 1942, in Abbotsford, Wis. They moved to Stanley in 1946, and have resided there since. Besides being an active homemaker, she was the bookkeeper for Kessenich Motors for 21 years. She was an active member of Maple Grove Bible Church, clerk of the elections board and a very active member of the Stanley Area Historical Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards and board games and was a world traveler.
Norma is survived by two daughters, Carol (Don) Metcalf of Pierz, Minn., and Nancy (George) York of Lincoln, Ark.; two sons, Dennis (Becky) Kessenich of Eau Claire and Jim Kessenich of Stanley; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Colleen) Hoffman of Willard; and one sister, Anita Ladwig of Amery.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, on July 6, 2004; one sister, Myrl Ulrich; and one brother, Raymond in infancy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be donated to the Stanley Area Historical Society.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Plombon Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery, both in Stanley.
Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.
