Tesmer, William Fredrick (25 Jan. 1879 - 26 Oct. 1939)
William Fredrick Tesmer, prominent farmer of this community, died at 7:00 A.M. last Thursday, Oct. 26, at his home in the town of Colby, after an illness of several months. Complications of the heart and other organs, followed by a stroke were the cause of his departure to the distant shore. Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church at Green Grove Sunday afternoon, Rev. M. C. Goetsch officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Norman Orth, Sylvester Tesmer, Ed. Feit, Paul Fricke, John Pribnow, Jr., and Robert Tesmer. Those in charge of the flowers were Janet Frome, Jeanette Orth, Jean Feit, Shirley Larsen, Yvonne Fricke, Iola Mae Emling, Inez Ebert and Wauneta Gosse.
The deceased, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tesmer, was born in Forrestville, Wis., on January 25th, 1879, thus reaching the age of sixty years, nine months and one day. He came to Clark county with his parents in 1890. He was married to Hattie Singstock, a daughter of Ferdinand and Caroline Singstock, on May 17th, 1905, in Colby. Mrs. Tesmer died in June, 1937.
Surviving are four daughters and one son - Mrs. Theo. Frome of Colby, Miss Lenora Tesmer of Milwaukee, Mrs. Harry Thieme of Unity, Miss Esther Tesmer of Milwaukee and Bernard Tesmer, at home. Also three brothers and five sisters - Mrs. Augusta Olson of Abbotsford, Mrs. John Pribnow of Colby, John Tesmer of Gilman, Mrs. Wm. Dahlke of Sherwood, Ore., Mrs. Minnie Fricke of Owen, Paul Tesmer of Colby, Mrs. Conrad Orth of Colby and Herman Tesmer of Neillsville, Wis.
Mr. Tesmer was held in high esteem by his neighbors and friends and held the office of supervisor of the town of Colby and trustee of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church. He was a good Christian, a good neighbor and a kind husband and father.

Hercher of Waukesha, Mr. and Mrs. August Schultz of Sun Prairie, Lillian Bennin family of Waterloo, Mrs. Chas. Daleshal of Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Tesmer of Wausau, Mrs. Ida Rumberg, Mr. and Mrs. F. Moss and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Singstock of Oshkosh, Fred Rusa family, Wm.
