Schroeder, Forrest Gordon (1933? - 11 Sept. 2004)
Private service with military honors was held for Forrest "Woody" Gordon Schroeder, 71, on Sept. 17 at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mr. Schroeder, who was born in Granton, Wis., died Sept. 11. He was a resident of Airway Heights for 33 years.
He graduated from New Lisbon (Wis.) High School in 1951 and married Betty Bohm in 1956.
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1976 and from Spokane Community College in 1978. Mr. Schroeder served in the Air Force in the Vietnam War as a pilot. He retired from the Air Force in 1988 after 16 years of service, achieving the rank of major.
Mr. Schroeder was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and his hobbies included small engine repair, camping, fishing and traveling. Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven Schroeder of Copperas Cove, Texas; three daughters, Patricia Strieff of Cheney, Lindi Basler of Spokane and Angela Bleeker of Greenacres; three brothers, Darrel Schroeder of Mequon, Wis., Stan Schroeder of Perham, Minn., and Fred Schroeder of Rockland, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
