Meacham, Dolores M. (19 Mar. 1927 - 1 May 2005)
JANESVILLE - Dolores M. "Dory" Meacham, 78, formerly of 472 N. Oakhill Ave., Janesville, died Sunday morning, May 1, 2005, at Haven House Hospice. Dory was born on March 19, 1927, in Granton, WI, daughter of Rudolph and Mary (Torpy) Grassman. The family relocated to Janesville when Dory was 3 years old. She was employed as a waitress at the Knotty Pine Restaurant when she married Robert Meacham on Nov. 6, 1948. She later was an employee of Borg's for several years. When Robert retired from Parker Pen Company, Dory worked side by side with him for many years in their own gun business, Meacham's Shooting Supplies, at 472 N. Oakhill Ave., Janesville. She was a member of the National Rifle Association and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Dory was a wonderful homemaker. She was noted as an accomplished cake decorator (self taught), an incredible seamstress and a loving, supportive mother and wife. She loved music and was a talented dancer. Beautiful music and lively rhythms made her Irish eyes smile and glow.
Dory leaves her daughter, Linda Rae Casimir; son-in-law, Bill Casimir; her son, Mark Meacham; her granddaughter, Nicole; her brother, Darel Grassman and a sister-in-law, Dawn, of Auburn, CA; cousins; a nephew and several nieces. Her beloved husband, Robert, died on June 8, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her dear sister, Sylvia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville, with Father Donn Heiar of St. John Vianney Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
