Hagedorn, Maria (22 March 1861 - 6 Sept. 1942)

At the age of 81 years, Mrs. Maria Hagedorn passed away Sunday, September 6 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Hemp, of 211 West Fifth Street, Neillsville, Wis.

Funeral services were held from the home at 1:30 Wednesday, September 9th, and at St. John’s Evangelical Church at two, the Rev. William A. Baumann conducting the rites. Interment was made in the Globe Cemetery.

The departed was born March 22, 1861, to Henry and Ernestine (Messerschmidt) Quast. She came to this country in March of the year 1883, having made her home in Clark County for 59 years.

Her married to Julius Hagedorn took place in Brandenburg, Germany. Seven children were born to them, namely: Mrs. Ernest Hemp, Neillsville; Paul and Richard, town of Weston; William, Chattanooga, Okla.; and Mrs. Elizabeth Grap, Wausau, Wis. Two sons preceded the parents in death. A brother and a two sisters also preceded Mrs. Hagedorn in death.
