Klein, Earl C. (13 May 1919 - 1 Oct. 2006)
Earl C. Klein, 87, of 20164 20th Ave., Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, died Sunday evening, Oct. 1, 2006, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
He was born May 13, 1919, in Loyal to Katherine (Schnoor) and George B. Klein. He grew up in Loyal and farmed for his family until the age of 40. He then moved to Eau Claire, where he owned and operated Earl & Verle Alignment. He retired in 1977 and moved to Chippewa Falls.
Earl married Victoria Giwojna Fasnacht on Oct. 21, 1977, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. She preceded him in death on Feb. 2, 1997.
He married Eleanora (Sorensen) Orme on Oct. 11, 1997, in Ladysmith. In his retirement, he kept busy doing odd jobs and worked for the town of Lafayette. He was talented at carving and woodworking. He also had a collection of John Deere memorabilia. He especially loved his John Deere tractor.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanora; five stepdaughters, Joyce Liddell and Elaine Pulver of Chippewa Falls, Carol (Donald) Andruskiewicz of Minnetonka, Minn., Judy Sutton of Rockwall, Texas, and Mary Ellen (Larry) Carlson of Harlingen, Texas; three stepsons, Roger (Hallie) Fasnacht of St. Cloud, Fla., Philip (Lou Ann) Orme of Hawkins and David Orme of King; a sister, Florence (Earl) Nelson of Eau Claire; a brother-in-law, Philip Schanke of Wausau; several stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, and stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Bertha Ampe, Ida Klein, Martha Schanke, Anna Klein; three brothers, John, Walter, and George Klein; a stepson, Jerry Fasnacht; and a stepson-in-law, Ralph Liddell.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at English Lutheran Church of Bateman with the Rev. D. J. Rasner officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery in the village of Lake Hallie.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
Earl loved traveling in the motor home and taking many fishing trips with his friends and family. He was so proud of his hobby farm in Chippewa Falls.
