Election last Tuesday was a quiet affair in York. Only 96 votes were cast here.

Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schoenfield were at Marshfield last Wednesday.

Abie Turner and son, Victor, are repairing the house, Mrs. Eva Canfield had moved onto her wall, and are building on a new part and a new porch.

Mr. Korth went to Loyal Friday and Saturday to work on the new garage that is being built for Rev. Taylor.

George Mortimer helped his brother, Ray, Friday and Saturday to put up his silo that blew down last spring.

Doris Gorsnick visited Marion Wenner last Sunday.

Mrs. Bertha Searles from Richland Center and her daughter, Lorene, and her daughter, Myrna, and her husband from Chicago, spent the weekend here with friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Eysnolge returned Saturday from their trip to Richland County.

George Turner came from Sycamore, Ill., to spend the weekend with his wife and son in Neillsville, and they and Mr. and Mrs. Wilber Turner visited at Abie Turner’s home Sunday.

The last time Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Worchel heard from their son, Marvin, in the army he was being sent from an army camp in the east to one on the west coast.

The Ladies’ Aid will serve their chicken supper October 2.

There was a light frost here Sunday morning, but it didn’t hurt anything much.

The Grange will have its booster meeting Tuesday night, September 29.

Carl Buddinger and Nut Turner have finished filling silo and Nute says he never got a better corn crop then had this year.

Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Lawrence visited at the Byrl Lawrence home in Marshfield Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Neal Johnson and baby of Loyal spent Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Milford Rowe.

Mrs. Will Eibergen and son, Dickie, went to Marshfield Saturday with Glen Laveys.

Mr. and Mrs. Al Tucker and son of Milwaukee came Saturday to visit at the Paul Freishman home.
