Janiskiewicz, Josephine (19 MAR 1854 - 17 JAN 1939)
Mrs. Josephine Janiskiewicz, 84, died at the home of her son-in-law, George Jakowicz, in the town of Withee, of heart failure on Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, 1939. Funeral services will be held from the home Friday morning, Jan. 20th, at 10:00 o’clock, conducted by the Spencer Cooperative Burial Assn. Interment will take place at St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. A complete obituary will be published in the "Courier" next week.

Funeral rites were conducted by Rev. St. Dzialdowski at the George Jakowicz home in the town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) on Friday morning last for Mrs. Josephine Janiskiewicz, who passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 1939, of old age infirmities.
The deceased was born in Lithuania on March 19, 1854 and had reached the age of 84 years, 9 months and 28 days. She was united in marriage in Lithuania in the year 1876 to Matt Janiskiewicz, who died in 1904. Mrs. Janiskiewicz came to America in 1914 and resided with her son in Chicago until fourteen years ago when she came to Thorp and spent the rest of her days with her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Jakowicz.
She leaves three sons, George and Stanley of Chicago, and Michael in Lithuania; three daughters, Helen Jakowicz of Thorp, Hedwig Jakowicz, Port Arthur, Texas, and Stella Kenesau, Chicago. Also thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The remains were laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were, John Kliminski, John Zdrojkowski, John Kozenka, Joseph Czernicki, St. Zawadzki Sr., and St. Zawadzki Jr..
