Crowley, Rosann (15 DEC 1860 - 11 FEB 1939)

Mrs. James B. Crowley passed away at her home in Thorp, Clark Co., Wis., Saturday morning, Feb. 11, 1939 at six o’clock. She had reached the age of 78 years, 1 month and 27 days.

Mrs. Crowley, nee Rosann Cassidy, was born in Dera Gonley, County Formana, Ireland, Dec. 15, 1860. She came to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada in 1882. In 1888 she was married to James B. Crowley and they cane to Thorp about 50 years ago, where she has since resided.

She leaves to mourn her death her five daughters, Mrs. J.F. Murry, Miss Margaret Crowley, and Mrs. E.S. Jacobson, Thorp; Mrs. C.S. Weiler, Blue Earth, Minn. And Mrs. E.J. Berendsen, Antigo, Wis. Her husband and a son, John, preceded her in death about three years ago.

Funeral services were held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Tuesday morning. Rev. Father Arnold Muckerheide officiated. Interment followed in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.

The American Legion Auxiliary, of which she was a charger member, attended in a body.

The pallbearers were, Fred Hedler, Tom Hedler, Leo Hedler, Leland Hedler, Frank Schmidt and Edwin Schmidt.

Out of town people here were: Mrs. Pliny Warren, Chicago, Ill., Pat Crowley, Owen, Wis., Mrs. Harry Thorsen, Mrs. E.E. Nielsen and Miss Natalie Scherf, Withee, Wis., Miss Iris Jacobson, Merrill, Wis., Miss Thora Jacobson, Madison, Wis., Mrs. Ralph Davis, Mrs. E.J. Mittermeyer, and Mrs. Robert Howard, Cornell, Wis.
