Bode, Margaret (13 Jan. 1909 - 10 Feb. 2007)

Sequim resident Margaret Griebenow Bode died Feb. 10, 2007, at the age of 98.

She was born Jan. 13, 1909, in Withee, Wisc., to Annie (Barber) and Fred Griebenow.

She received an art degree from UCLA in 1932. She married Francis D. Bode in California in 1934.

Mrs. Bode lived in Egypt, Mexico and many places in the U.S. before retiring to Sequim in 1967. She continued painting on the peninsula and took advanced sculpture at Peninsula College in 1973.

She is survived by sister Sara Jane Hansford of Sierra Madre, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis D. Bode in 1993; and daughter Lucy Burnaby Bode on March 5, 1995.
