OWEN - Albert C. Bower, 85, Owen, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit of complications following an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2005, at United Church of Christ in Owen, Wisconsin. The Rev. Mark Schwinn will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Withee, Wis. Al's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Maurina Funeral Home in Owen and from 9 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church.
Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Al was born on June 1, 1920, in Miles City, Mont. to Leonard and Mabel (Farnum) Bower. He attended Owen schools. Al and Alice Cleveland were married on July 16, 1938, in North Dakota. She died on Feb. 19, 2002.
They farmed on the home farm and he also worked for John Isaac's John Deere Dealership, O&N Lumber Co., and Howard Rabska Construction. Al enjoyed attending auctions and visiting with family and friends. He was a member of United Church of Christ in Owen, Wisconsin.
Al is survived by his children, Eileen (August) Schreiber of Owen, Allen (Carol) Bower of Willard, Nancy (Paul) Niznik of Medford, Dale (Kristi) Bower of Holcombe, Galen (April) Bower of Big Bend, Duane (Mary) Bower of Watertown, and Diane (Michael) Sydow of Plymouth; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harry (Ellen) Bower of New Port Richey, Fla., and LeRoy Bower of Eufala, Okla.; one sister, Laura Belle "Ginger" Reynolds of New Port Richey, Fla.; and one sister-in-law, Alma Bower of Richland Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice; one son, Ronald; one daughter, Sharon; and one brother.
