Jalowitz, Bernice A. (14 Sept. 1908 - 3 Mar. 2004)

LUBLIN - Bernice A. Jalowitz, 95, Chippewa Falls, formerly of Lublin, died March 3, 2004, at Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation was from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church. Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.

She was born Sept. 14, 1908, in Poland to Adam and Angeline (Nalezinski) Kara. She was united in marriage in Chicago on Aug. 17, 1927, to George Jalowitz. They lived in Chicago and then moved to Marengo, Ill. They then moved to the town of Withee in 1946 and farmed until retiring in 1964. George died Jan. 10, 1986. Bernice resided on the farm until moving to live with her daughter in Chippewa Falls in 1993.

She is survived by her children, Al (Margie) Jalowitz, Withee, Del (Gene) Gustafson, Stanley, and Joan (Roger) Deutschlander, Chippewa Falls; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; her brother, Stanley Kara, Owen; and sister, Gladys Pawlowski, Marshfield.
