Kramas, Andrew (11 OCT 1863 - 11 SEP 1939)
Andrew Kramas, a resident of this community for the past forty-one years, passed away at his farm home in the town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), Sept. 11, 1939, having reached the ripe old age of seventy-five years and eleven months.
Mr. Karmas was born in Babrowa, Poland, on Oct. 11, 1863. He emigrated to America, arriving here on March 16, 1888 and made his first home at Hazelton, Penn. Two years later he moved to Lammond, Ill., and a short time afterward to Chicago, where he resided until coming to Thorp in 1898.
He was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Magdalene Witkowski in Chicago on Aug. 18, 1891.
Besides an aged widow, he leaves to mourn, four sons, Joseph, Frank, John and Paul of Milwaukee, eight daughters, Anna (Mrs. Joe Zaidel), Thorp, Elsie, (Mrs. Ed Godlen) and Julia (Mrs. Roman Lozynski), of Chicago, Marie (Mrs. Chas. Luby), Melrose Park, Ill., Katherine of Evantson, Ill., Sophie (Mrs. Andrew Zaborowski) and Helen (Mrs. Eugene Hessley) of Milwaukee, and Stella (Mrs. Eugene Wilhelm) of Thorp. One brother and a sister preceded him in death in Poland. He also leaves twenty-seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Thomas Adamiak at St. Hedwig’s Church at ten o’clock last Thursday morning. The four sons of the deceased with two sons-in-law, Jos. Zaidel and Eugene Wilhelm, bore the body to its last resting place in the parish cemetery nearby.
