Stookey, Ruth (14 OCT 1939)
On Saturday, Oct. 14th, 1939, Miss Ruth Stookey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.D. Stookey of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Mr. Douglas Taft, son of Mrs. Edith Taft and the late Guy Taft, of Waupun, Wis. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Sheldon at the Congregational Church, Wis. Av., Milwaukee, at 4:30 p.m.
They will reside in Milwaukee, where Mr. Taft is associated with the New York Life Insurance Co.
The couple was attended by Miss Elizabeth Pomeroy of Beaver Dam, and Mr. D. Fletcher of Waupun.
Mr. and Mrs. D.D. Stookey of Thorp and Wesley Stookey of southern Illinois, were present to witness the nuptials.
The "Courier" joins the many friends of Mrs. Taft of this vicinity in extending best wishes.
