McNown, Mrs. J.W. (1870 - 22 NOV 1939)
Mrs. J.W. McNown, a resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) for the past two years, died at the Victory Hospital at Stanley on Nov. 22nd, 1939 after an illness of several months duration. She had reached the age of sixty-nine years and eight months.
Mrs. McNown was a former resident of the community of Mauston, Wis., where she was laid at rest. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in that city at three o’clock last Friday afternoon, Rev. Alfred B. Nimez officiating. She was a member of the eastern Star Lodge of Mauston.
Surviving her are two sons, Harrison McNown of Harshaw, Wis., and Dr. Wm. McNown of Thorp.
While Mrs. McNown lived but a short time in this village, she had made numerous friends who will sadly miss her, but are assured that her release from earthly bondage in her hour of need, is for the best.
