Zawacki, Stanley Sr. (13 MAR 1867 - 3 DEC 1939)

Stanley Zawacki Sr., retired farmer, died at his home in the village here (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) on Sunday last, after a short illness. He had reached the age of seventy-two years, six months and twenty-four days.

Mr. Zawacki was born in Poland on March 13, 1867 and emigrated to America in the year 1913, immediately locating on a farm in the town of Withee, where he resided until fourteen years ago when he moved to Thorp. He was united in marriage to Alexandra Kowieski in 1887 in Poland.

He is survived by two sons, William of Thorp and Stanley of Withee; three daughters, (Philomena) Mr. Andrew Jarocki, (Anna) Mrs. John Kliminski, of Thorp, and (Elizabeth) Mrs. John E. Sypniewski of Chicago; one sister, Mrs. Andrew Olinski of Thorp, fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The body lay in state at the Bogumill Funeral Home until Tuesday when funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at ten a.m., Rev. Thomas Adamiak officiating. Interment took place in the parish cemetery nearby. Pallbearers were, Frank Sierocuk, Martin Soda, Thomas Kalawiec, Anton Stroinksi, Walenty Dobrzynski and Walter Bonk.
