Wagener, Susan (8 SEP 1880 - 29 JAN 1940)
Susan Freres was born in Krandorf, Luxemburg, Sept. 8, 1880 and died at Victory Hospital in Stanley, Wis., Jan. 29, 1940. She came to this country with her parents when a child and settled at Le Mars, Iowa. In 1888 they moved to Dubuque, Iowa, where she was married to Peter Wagener, May 12, 1910. They lived in Dubuque until February 1915, when they purchased the H.V. Jerard farm in Roger Creek and moved thereto. Mr. Wagener died Nov. 21, 1930.
Mrs. Wagener is survived by six sons, Joseph and Marce of Milwaukee, Anthony of Dubuque, Iowa, Vincent of Stanley, and Jerome and John at home.
Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Clara Splinter of Dubuque, Iowa, and Mrs. Katherine Vanderweyst of Unity, and a granddaughter.
The funeral was held in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Stanley at 10 a.m., Thursday, Rev. P. Pitzenberger officiating. Her six sons were pallbearers.
