Dickinson, Mr./Mrs. George B. (50th Anniv. - 18 Mar. 1940)
Mr. and Mrs. George B. Dickinson of the town of Hull were guests of honor at a reception given Monday evening by their children in honor of their golden wedding anniversary.
The reception was attended by their children, grandchildren, other relatives and a few of the old neighbors and friends.
They were married fifty years ago March 18th, on the farm on which they still live. They were attended by Miss Edith Dickinson, sister of Mr. Dickinson, and Alfred Cramer, brother of Mrs. Dickinson, who later were united in marriage and on May 6th of this year will celebrate their golden wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Cramer are now living in California.
Mrs. Dickinson, whose maiden name was Jennie Cramer, was born in New York state, and was brought to the town of Hull by her parents when seven years old.
Mr. Dickinson was born in Waukegan, Ill. His parents later came to Wisconsin. They lived a while in Wausau and in the town of Wein and later settled in the town of Hull, Wood Co., Wis.
They had five children, all of whom are living. They are: Leslie Dickinson of Wausau; Reynolds of Wisconsin Rapids; Mrs. George Drumm of Wausau; Mrs. Henry Wiese of Abbotsford; and George, Jr., on the home farm.
The reception was made doubly pleasant by the fact that all of their children and grand children were present.
They received many cards, letters and gifts, and a bouquet of flowers.
The evening was spent socially and at midnight a buffet lunch was served.
Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Dickinson and children of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds Dickinson and children of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. George Drumm and children of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wiese and children, Mr. and Mrs. George Dickinson, Jr., and children; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Brehm and children; Niles Hamilton, Jess Parkhill of Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Young, Mrs. Nora Mantor and son, Morris; Nelson Ouimette and son, Dale, Mrs. Allan Davis of Minneapolis, and Miss Jean Cramer.
