Stadtmueller, Mr./Mrs. J. J. (50th Anniv. - 26 May 1940)
Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Stadtmueller celebrated their fiftieth or golden wedding anniversary at their home in Colby Sunday. This celebration was arranged as a surprise by the latter’s sisters - Mrs. Mary Bork, Mrs. J. F. Keleher and Mrs. Bertha Majoribanks. Dinner and supper were served and the day was enjoyed playing cards.
Mrs. Stadtmueller was born in Town Wein, Washington county, on May 13, 1866, and Mr. Stadtmueller was born in Oshkosh on June 26, 1859. They were married at Oshkosh in St. Vincent church. After their marriage, they lived in Oshkosh nine years and in Amherst nine years after which they moved onto a farm in the town of Colby where they lived for three years when they moved onto a farm in the town of Hull where they lived until two years ago when they moved into the city of Colby, Wis. They have two sons - George of Neenah and Arthur of Northfield, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Stadtmueller are feeling just fine in spite of their advanced years.
Out of town people here for the celebration were Mrs. Rose Laux of Chicago (Mrs. Stadtmueller’s aunt), Mrs. Mary Bork and daughter, Harriett, of Oshkosh, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Keleher of Chicago, Mrs. Bertha Majoribanks of Evanston, Ill., Florence O’Connell of Oshkosh, Mr. and Mrs. John Osterberg and daughter, Mary, of Oshkosh and Mr. Stanley Pochojka of Oshkosh.
Their two sons were unable to come as they could not get away.
