Swenson, John (11 Apr. 1867 - 22 May 1940)
John Swenson, who lived on a farm west of Colby for 18 years, died May 22 at the home of his son, Evar, west of Beloit, Wis. He was ill for nearly a year. Burial took place in the Scandinavian cemetery in Rockford.
The deceased was born in Sweden April 11, 1867, and came to the United States in 1900 and settled in Rockford where he lived until 1919 when he moved to Colby, Wis.
Surviving are one son, Evar, six grand children and one great grand child. Also three brothers in Sweden. One son and his wife preceded him in death. His wife was a nurse in the vicinity of Colby for many years.
