Frane, Catherine (Marriage - 5 June 1940)

A double wedding was performed at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby Wednesday morning, June 5th, 1940, when Miss Catherine Frane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Frane, became the bride of Mr. William Roohr, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs, William Roohr, Sr., of Town Beaver, and Miss Irene Voge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Voge of Town Mayville, became the bride of Mr. Vincent Frane, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Frane of Colby, Wis. Rev. L. J. Lang officiated at the high mass and read the double ring marriage ceremony.

Mrs. William Roohr, Jr., was attired in a beautiful white satin gown with train and veil and her bonnet consisted of calla lilies. Her maid of honor, Lucille Allar, wore a dress of pink chiffon and she had a mixed bouquet of flowers. Her bridesmaid, Lydia Wepling, wore a dress of blue taffeta and she also had a bouquet consisting of mixed flowers. Both had veils to match their dresses. Mr. Roohr was attended by Alvin Frane as best man and Ed. Frome. Train bearers were Agnes Raeck, dressed in peach organdy, and Babe Witte.

Mrs. Vincent Frane was attired in a lovely white satin gown with lace top and train with veil. Her bouquet consisted of calla lilies and roses. Her maid of honor, Mrs. Virgil Frane, wore a dress of blue taffeta and she had a corsage of mixed flowers. Her bridesmaid, Mrs. Margery Orth, of Milwaukee, wore a dress of pink taffeta and she also had a corsage of mixed flowers. Mr. Frane was attended by Anthon Schuh as best man and Ernest Kugel. Train bearers were Shirley Frane, dressed in blue organdy, and Yvonne Kniess, dressed in pink organdy.

A reception was given at St. Mary’s auditorium, the room being nicely decorated with pink lilacs and candles to match the dresses. In the evening, a wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion.

Mr. and Mrs. Roohr, Jr., left on a wedding trip to Minneapolis and Long Lake and will make their home in Chicago where the groom is engaged in trucking. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Frane left on a wedding trip to Minneapolis, Long Lake, Wisconsin Dells and LaCrosse and will be at home after July 1st on the Victor Frane farm which Vincent Frane rented.
