Richard Schuman, 65, of Owen, died Oct. 27, 2007, at the Colonial Center Nursing Home in Colby, Wis.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Colby, Wis.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Richard Charles "Slim" Schuman was born April 10, 1942, in Superior, the son of Frank and Martha (Lee) Schuman. He was united in marriage to Cheri Nelson on April 10, 1982, in McHenry County, Ill. Richard served in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 19, 1960, to Oct. 7, 1962, with an honorable discharge. He worked in various construction jobs in Nebraska, Texas and Wisconsin, retiring due to ill health.

Survivors include his wife, Cheri, of Owen, one son, one daughter and a brother.
