OWEN -- Vern Floyd Buchanan, 77, of Owen, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Community Alliance Church in Withee, Wis. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Curtiss, Wis.

He was born Oct. 26, 1931, in rural Curtiss to Floyd and Clara (Wendt) Buchanan. He married Arlene Blomquist on June 29, 1963, in Rockford, Ill. He worked for Teledyne Post in Owen for many years. He was also a farmer, worked in scrap iron and kept bee hives.

Surviving are his wife, Arlene Buchanan of Owen; children, Naomi (Gordon) Dickson, Olympia, Wash., Stephen (Kerline) Buchanan, Greenwood, Tim Buchanan, Owen, Daniel Buchanan, Owen, Thomas (Leigh) Buchanan, Curtiss, Bethany (Michael) Ciszak, Stanley, and Rebecca (Chris) Steiner, Withee; 18 grandchildren; two brothers, Don Buchanan, Curtiss, and Ken (Lois) Buchanan, Olympia, Wash.; and his sister, Joyce (Blythe) Stanton, Olympia, Wash.
