Ziebell, Winifred (10 Sept. 1890 - 11 Nov. 1942)

Mrs. Norman Ziebell, nee Winifred Cronk, passed away at the Northern Pacific Hospital in St. Paul, Nov. 11th at 4:30 p.m. She has been a patient there for about three weeks, the cause of her death being penphigus.

Mrs. Ziebell was born September 10, 1890, at Rockland. The family moved from there to Norwalk, most of her young life being spent in the Norwalk community. She chose music as a profession. To Neillsville friends she will be remembered as having supervision of music in the public school system here in about 1915 and 1916. She alter taught in the schools at Brainerd, Minn. While at Brainerd, she was married to Norman Ziebell on June 4, 1919. It was after her marriage that she directed an outstanding band, which tok first place at the Minnesota State Fair. She also organized a Ladies’ Drun and Bugle corps, of which the people of Brainerd are very proud. The publication of that city speaks of her as an outstanding woman.

Chrsitian Science services were held at the Hoenig Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with burial taking place in the Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd. Pallbearers were members of the Elk Lodge, of which her husband is a member.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, her father, Charles Cronk and a stepmother of Onalaska, one brother, Horace Cronk, St. Paul, and a sister, Miss Gladys Cronk, Chicago.

Those who attended the funeral were the above relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Struce and daughter of Miineapolis, and Mrs. Gertrude Gilbertson and son, Erwin of Granton.
