Wilkening, Henry (23 Mar. 1873 - 17 July 1940)
Funeral services for Henry Wilkening, a resident of the Colby community for about 40 years, who died of cancer of the bladder on July 17 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Art Schulz, in Helenville, Jefferson county, were held Sunday afternoon, July 21, at the Netardy Funeral Home at Fort Atkinson, Rev. Huebner of the Lutheran church officiating, and internment was made in the Summit cemetery.
The deceased was born in Dousman, Wis., March 23, 1873, thus reaching the age of 67 years, three months and 24 days. He was a member of the Colby lodge F. & A.M. and had been a member of the Colby, Wis. High School board for twelve years. He lived in the town of Colby until last fall when he sold his farm to Arthur Wiersig and moved to Helenville to live with his daughter. His second wife died four years ago.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Art Schultz of Helenville, Wis., Ruth Beighlie of Washington, D.C., and Margaret Wilkening of Sullivan, Wis., and one brother, Wm. Wilkening of Sullivan, Wis.
