Buelow, Jannette (Marriage - 18 Nov. 1942)

Miss Jannette Buelow, town of York, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Buelow, and Everett Gehrt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gehrt of the town of Pine Valley, were quietly married on Wednesday, Nov. 18th, at 9 p.m. at the home of the bride’s parents in the town of York by the Reverend M. Taylor of the York Center Methodist Church.

The bride was attired in a beige colored street length dress. She wore a heart shaped locket, a gift from the groom, and carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums with ribbon showers.

She was attended by Mrs. Lawrence Kolbrack, a cousin, who acted as bridesmaid. Mrs. Kolbrack was attired in rose colored street-length dress and carried a bouquet of pink carnations. The groom was attended by Clarence Braatz, a close friend, as best man. Both men wore dark suits with a pink carnation in their lapels.

A wedding supper following the ceremony was served in the dining room to Reverend Taylor and the close relatives, namely: The grooms parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gehrt, and two brothers, Harland and Walter, and the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Buelow and sister, Miss Dorothy. The room was decorated with pink and white streamers.

The bride is a graduate of the Neillsville High School, having graduated with the class of 1941. Since then she has assisted her parents on the farm.

The groom is a young farmer of Pine Valley, having completed a farm in that town ship for the past three years.

On Thursday evening the couple met with neighbors and friends of the bride in the town hall, York, where a miscellaneous shower was given for them. Many useful gifts were received, after which the couple served refreshments. They began housekeeping at once at the groom’s farm in the town of Pine Valley.
