Windfall Corners - by Mrs. Victor Krejci
Pvt. Warren Carpenter, who is on a furlough from Georgia, visited his father, William Carpenter, Sunday. He also spent some time with his brother, Victor, at Marshfield.
Marvin Freeberg enjoyed a short furlough visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Freeberg. He returned to Toledo, Ohio, Thursday.
Sgt. and Mrs. Donald Drescher of Rockford, Ill., and son, Wayne, spent the weekend with home folks. Neva Bartz also spent the weekend at home, returning by bus to Eau Claire Sunday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Feutz, Barron, Wis., called on Floyd Higgins Saturday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. John Turniski of Plymouth, Wis., enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at the Art Phipps home.
Isaac Higgins spent the weekend with his wife at the Rochester clinic.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lavey and daughter, Joan, spent from Wednesday until Saturday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dupree Wooten and family at Chicago. Mrs. Wooten and Mrs. Lavey are sisters.
Mr. and Mrs. Elfred Davis and four daughters, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lazotte and family spent Sunday afternoon at the Breese-Davis home.
Amy Lee of Milwaukee and Mr. and Mrs. Ell Lee and son of Neillsville spent Sunday at the Price Lee home.
Mr. and Mrs. Grant Johnson spent Saturday evening at the Art Phipps home.
Mr. and Mrs. Owen Higgins of Janesville spent the weekend at the Isaac Higgins home. His wife visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Alyea.
Mrs. Ferdinand Helm is visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Fred Bartz. Word received from Fred Bartz is that he is getting along well at the hospital.
Marleen Buddinger, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Buddinger, is ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Neil Downer visited Sunday with the Alfred Grimm family at Stratford.
Eileen Bergeman and Janet Bergman of Wausau spent several days with home folks. Mr. and Mrs. Gust Bergman took them back to Wausau Sunday.
Mrs. Van Kayser entertained the Ladies’ Aid Thursday at the church parlors in Granton.
Harley Chambers of Wilton hunted deer with Ronald Bergeman and each one got a fine buck.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Howe and Will Carpenter visited Sunday at the Gust Bergemen home.
