Peterson, Marthea (15 June 1867 - 6 Oct. 1940)
Mrs. Nels Peter Peterson died at Neillsville Sunday, ordinary disabilities of old age being the cause of her death. Funeral services, by her request, were held at the church where she was baptized and confirmed on Tuesday.
The deceased, whose maiden name was Marthea Larson, was born on June 15, 1867, in Rockdell township, Olmsted, Minn. She was baptized and confirmed in the East St. Olaf Lutheran church of the township where she was born. She grew to womanhood there and then came to Colby, Wis., where she was united in marriage to Nels Peter Peterson in 1898. Only one child was born to this union, John M. Peterson of Neillsville, Wis. Her husband preceded her in death 13 years ago. She made her home at Colby until about three years ago when she went to live with her son at Neillsville, Wis.
Surviving are one son, John M. Peterson, one step son, Nels G. Peterson of Milwaukee, one sister, Christin Moe of Veblin, S.D., and two grand children.
She was confined to her room about the last two years of her life where she was cared for by her son and daughter in law until she passed on.
