Ortmeier, Irene (Marriage - 23 Nov. 1940)

A very pretty wedding took place at the First Evangelical and Reformed church in Colby Saturday, November 23, Rev. S. A. Schmiechen officiating, when Miss Irene Ortmeier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ortmeier, became the bride of Mr. Stephen Vlcansky of Milwaukee, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Vlcansky, Sr. Miss Delores Schmidt was maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Janet Olson and Miss Dorothy Strey. The groom was attended by Emil Vlcansky, Adam J. Thesz and Earl Olson. Miss Delores Strade was flower girl.

The bride was attired in a becoming dress of white slipper satin marquisette style and her bouquet consisted of white calla lilies. Miss Olson wore a dress of cornflower blue moiré bustle style and her bouquet consisted of yellow mums. Miss Strey wore a similar dress and her bouquet also consisted of yellow mums.

A reception was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ortmeier, the home being nicely decorated with flowers and decorations matching the bridal party.

The newly married couple will make their home in Milwaukee.
