Oestreich, Caroline (30 JUL 1908 - 4 JUN 1940)
Tuesday morning, June 4, after several months of illness, Mrs. Lothar Oestreich, peacefully passed away at her home in the village.
Mrs. Oestreich, nee Caroline Luber, was born in Patch Grove, Grant County, July 30, 1908. When five years of age she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Luber and has since lived in Loyal and vicinity.
She was married Aug. 14, 1930 to Lothar Oestreich. She was a graduate of the Loyal High School and of the Wausau Business College and was employed at the Citizens State Bank previous to and for a year after her marriage.
Although Mrs. Oestreich’s greatest interest in life was her home and family her friends were many and were very dear to her.
She was a member of the local Trinity Lutheran Church, and her funeral services were conducted from that church Wednesday afternoon at 2 P. M. following a short service at the Frank Oestreich home at 1:30. The Rev. J. C. Langholz officiated. The hymns," The Lord is My Shepherd", " Sometimes We’ll Understand", and "Asleep in Jesus", were sung by Mrs. Wm. Rottjer and Miss Mavis Berg with Mrs. George Jensen accompanying.
Pall bearers were Hal Voight, O. W. Trindal, Carl Christiansen, Warner Berry, Leo Wilde, and Perry Volk.
Flowers were carried by Mrs. O. W. Trindal, Mrs. Leo Wilde, Mrs. Henry Rottjer, Mrs. Warner Berry, Mrs. Rose Brussow, Mrs. Percy Voight, Mrs. Raphael Haas, Mrs. Perry Volk, Miss Emily Bredleau, Miss Vera Luchterhand, Mrs. Carl Christensen and Mrs. H. E. Catlin.
Interment was in the Loyal cemetery.
She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Joan, seven years of age; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Luber, Beaver township; and three brothers, Virgil Luber, Eau Claire; Ford Luber;, Rice Lake, and Allan Luber, at home.
Among those from out of town who were here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Luber, Mrs. Altom, Ruby and Elnore Jones, and Russell Colby, all of Eau Claire; Walter Oestreich and children, Park Falls; Mrs. Virgil Loiselle and Mr. and Mrs. H. Oestreich and daughter, Arlene, Marshfield.
Mrs. Henry Vetter and Ruby Vetter, Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Hastings Baird, Greenwood; Selma Voss, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Ford Luber, Mr. and Mrs. J. Jacobson, Mrs. H. King, and Mrs. A. Jacobson, Rice Lake.
Miss Sophie Paulus, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Paulus, Mrs. Oscar Carl, Roger Carl, Miss Mary Julinski. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mezer, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Polonda, Prairie du Chien; and Walter Haville, Richard Ward, Mrs. George Mattie, and Fred Luber, Bagley.
