Behling, Millie #2 (23 FEB 1861 - 11 AUG 1939)
After an illness which had confined her during the summer, Mrs. Fred Behling, resident of the town of Hixon (Clark Co., Wis.), living 2 ½ miles north of Withee, died at three a.m., Friday, Aug. 11, 1939, at the age of 78.
Born at Ellenburg, N.Y., Feb. 23, 1861. At an early age moved to Milwaukee and on Dec. 26, 1882, was married to Fred Behling. In November 1905 they moved to Withee and settled on a farm.
She leaves to mourn, her husband, Fred Behling; a daughter, Mrs. Harry Cordes of Milwaukee; three sons, Fred Behling Jr. of Withee, William Behling of Withee, and Hilbert Behling of Gary, Ind., also one brother, August Bolter (Boelter?) of Waukesha; two sisters, Mrs. William Behling of Janesville, and Mrs. Alex Mitchell of Waukesha; and a granddaughter, Miss Bernice Cordes of Milwaukee.
Funeral services were held at the Withee M.E. Church Monday, Aug. 14, Rev. James Irish officiating. Interment at Withee (Riverside) Cemetery.
Those from away who attended the funeral were Mrs. Alex Mitchell and son, Allen, and daughters, Ruth and Mrs. Hart, of Waukesha; August Bolter and the Misses Alice and Elsie Behling, and Charles Crapengeiser of Brookfield, and Mrs. A. Kleiman and Harry Cordes of Milwaukee.
